Livery Yard
Livery Yard at Butterywells Farm
A Friendly, Flexible Livery Yard in Aberdeenshire
At Butterywells Farm, our livery yard offers a welcoming and supportive environment for both horse and rider. Set within peaceful countryside just outside Aberdeen, we provide a space where horses can thrive and owners can enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
We are predominantly a hacking yard, ideal for those who enjoy getting out and exploring, but our facilities can also lend themselves to riders working at a more competitive level. Whether your focus is leisure riding or schooling, you’ll find a balanced and accommodating environment here.
A Yard That Works Around You
We understand that every horse owner has different needs, which is why we aim to be as flexible as possible.
Our yard is primarily a DIY livery, giving you the freedom to care for your horse in your own way.
However, we also offer:
- Assisted livery options for extra support when needed
- Full livery packages for those requiring a more hands-on service
- Additional help when you’re away, including cover during holidays
This flexible approach allows you to tailor your livery arrangement to suit your lifestyle, whether you’re here every day or need more regular support.
A Safe, Supportive Environment
Butterywells Farm is home to a mixed herd, creating a calm and social setting for horses. With owners living on site, there is always someone nearby, providing reassurance and an added level of care.
We offer:
- 24/7 access to the yard
- A friendly, approachable and knowledgeable team
- A safe and relaxed atmosphere for both horses and owners
As horse owners ourselves, we understand how important it is to feel confident in where your horse is kept. Our own horses are part of the same environment, and we treat every horse on the yard with the same level of care and attention.
Facilities and Riding
The yard is well-suited to everyday riding and enjoyment, with a strong focus on hacking and making the most of the surrounding countryside. At the same time, riders who wish to school or train more seriously will find the space and facilities to do so.
Whether you’re heading out for a quiet hack or working towards personal goals, Butterywells Farm provides a supportive and enjoyable setting.
A Personal Approach
As a family-run yard, we pride ourselves on creating a place where people feel comfortable, supported and part of a community. We’re always happy to help, offer advice or lend a hand when needed - while still giving you the independence to enjoy your time with your horse.
